Lions Club of Winslow 10K Run - February 2026
What an amazing Sunday morning supporting the Lions Club of Winslow10K Run, with around 230 runners taking part! The atmosphere was brilliant from start to finish.
Our refreshments stall was a big hit, especially the freshly made bacon and sausage baps, along with cakes and other treats. We received great feedback from runners and spectators alike — thank you to everyone who stopped by!
A huge thank you to all our volunteers who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to make the morning run so successful. Friends of Furze Down couldn’t do this without you.
We’re delighted to share that all proceeds from the refreshments will go towards our Amphitheatre Development Project, helping us take another exciting step forward for the school community.
And of course, thank you to Lions Club of Winslow for organising another fantastic community event!

Milton Keynes Shopping Centre – December 2025
We were out collecting on behalf of Friends of Furze Down in Milton Keynes Shopping Centre and it was wonderful to see so much generosity, especially on the last Saturday before Christmas.
A huge thank you to the Winslow Concert Band, who played brilliantly and created such a festive atmosphere
Buckingham Christmas Parade – December 2025
On Saturday 13th December, despite chilly fingers and toes (thank goodness for the hot chocolate and coffee!), the Friends of Furze Down were out in Buckingham, spreading festive cheer. We were joined by the fantastic Winslow Concert Band, who provided wonderful festive music as we collected for our school.
It was a busy, bustling day, and thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised just over £300 through donations and QR code contributions – a truly whopping amount!
A huge thank you to everyone who came along, donated, and helped make the day so special. Your support will make a real difference for our school community.
