Reporting Absence

Holidays During Term Time
The school cannot normally approve holidays during term time.
Be aware the council's County Attendance Team may issue a fine for absences taken during term time.

Term Dates
School finishes 2 hours earlier on 18th December 2026, 25th March 2027 and 21st July 2027 (1pm for Primary and 1.20pm for Secondary and P16).

Transport
Clear transport arrangements help children travel between home and school calmly and safely.
Please let the school office know here as early as possible if your child’s transport arrangements change.

Please ensure your child is ready and waiting when transport arrives, as drivers can only wait a few minutes before continuing their route.
Taxi
Senior students
Drop-off: 8.50am
Pick-up: 3.25pm
Primary students
Drop-off: 9.10am
Pick-up: 3.00pm
Children travelling home by taxi cannot travel home another way unless the school has permission from a parent or carer.
Arriving by car
Please help keep the school entrance clear, especially at the beginning and end of the school day.
Lay-bys outside the school gates can be used throughout the day.

Senior students
Drop-off: 8.55am
Pick-up: 3.35pm
Primary students
Drop-off: 9.10am
Pick-up: 3.00pm
Extreme weather
We will keep the school open during extreme weather whenever it is safe to do so.
If the school closes, we will contact families by text or email where possible.
Sometimes taxis may leave early or be unable to reach the school because of weather conditions.
If this happens, parents or carers will need to collect their child.

School meals and payments
We use ParentPay to help families and school work together to support everyday school life.
ParentPay is a secure online payment system.
You can use it to pay for school meals, trips and other school activities online.
Setting up to Parent Pay.
- Ask the school office for your ParentPay activation letter
- Go to ParentPay login page
- Enter the username and password from the activation letter
- Enter your child’s date of birth if requested
- Enter your name, email address and a new password
- Accept the terms and conditions
- Activate the account
- Click the verification link sent to your email
- Log in using your email and password
If you have lost the activation letter, contact the school office.

Uniform
School uniform helps children feel part of the school community and ready for the day.
We understand that some children may need flexibility with uniform because of sensory or regulation needs. Please contact us if you have any concerns.
Everyday uniform
These items can be bought from any shop:
– White shirt or polo shirt
– Black or dark grey trousers, shorts or skirt
– Black shoes with a low heel
Summer uniform
Children can also wear a blue checked summer dress during warm weather.

– Sweatshirt
– Fleece
– Cardigan
– Hoody
School coats and bags are also available but are optional.
PE and games
– Blue logo polo shirt from PL School Wear
– Black leggings, joggers or shorts
Post-16 students
Post-16 students should wear smart clothes suitable for work or college. For example:
– Shirt or blouse
– Black trousers
– Jacket or blazer
– Knee-length skirt
– Smart dress
– Black low-heel shoes
